Hi Amber, Thanks for the comments. These are all optional so if you are concerned with GDPR compliance then you should use the confirmation option with the Join Email list option and not auto-trigger the action. This provides explicit consent from the user before they join the list.

I am a bit concerned about this line of the article:

“Now you can choose to automatically add people to your email list when they sign up for your giveaway, instead of asking them to sign up for your giveaway and email newsletter separately.”

To the best of my knowledge doing this violates GPDR, as consent has to be given separately from Terms agreement (they can’t be rolled into one) and we can’t block users from enter a giveaway if they do not want to be added to a list. :/

I know that RP is working on adding GDPR compliance but I think that should be happening ASAP given some these changes that are being rolled out that appear to be violating it.
